Rox Fall to Yanks
5/8

This was game 2 against the Yankees but I thought it was a game that was going to be delayed. It was not though. I showed up early with my dad to find that they were not doing any BP due to the rain. So what did I do? I tried to stay dry as much as I could until the gates opened and we were able to work the Yankees wall. The two goals during this homestand were Mariano Rivera and Joe Girardi, neither that I was able to get thus far. So once the gates opened Kevin from Rocknation, EB, Rachael, Rox Addict and myself all headed down to the Yankees wall and waited while to poured to see if we could get anything… We didn’t get ANYTHING again! Rivera did sign like 3 but then was told that he needed to go in. So we didn’t get him yet again.

The reason we found out later is that Mariano Rivera had to run in and get changed because they were honoring him with the check that was made out to his foundation.
After waiting in the rain my dad and I headed over to our front row seats in Right Field… Yep that is right FRONT ROW. I have never been lucky sitting in these seats we have never had the chance to get a homerun ball. So I knew that the likely hood of getting a homerun was very very very low!
On the Mound tonight for the Rockies was Juan Nicasio and on the Mound for the Yankees was David Phelps. Nicasio looked good in the beginning but has had a rough time this year. It doesn’t seem he has control of his pitches which has destroyed him this year.
The Yankees ended up getting on the board in the 1st inning with a 2-run homerun by Vernon Wells to left field. The Rockies in the 1st went 1-2-3 while The Yankees did 1-2-3 in the top of the second.
However in the bottom of the 2nd the Rockies were able to get tie up the game with a 2-run homerun by Todd Helton to right field…. Yes I said Right Field, where I was sitting front row, no the ball was 3 sections to my right and not even close to where I was at… AGAIN!
The rest of the game was rather boring and no one scored while we were there.
ALSO A QUICK CONGRATS TO NELLY WHO GOT HIS FIRST HIT WITH THE YANKEES, IT WAS A TRIPLE TO CENTER!
My dad works at 530 in the morning which means he wakes up anywhere between 4-445 am so when we go together we usually leave early. If you know me I NEVER leave early but it was cold, I wasn’t prepared with clothing, and dad had to work the next day so we left.
I heard the rest of the game from the nice warm car and heard about the blown call at 1 which essentially cost the Rockies the game, thanks Phil Cuzzi!
The Yankees ended up taking game 2 of the series 3-2.
I did not go to the Yankees game on Thursday but if you want to know about the game make sure you head over to Rox Addicts page http://roxaddict.mlblogs.com and check out his post.
Also want to give another shout out to D the Rockpile Ranter for mentioning me in his post, we really are the Trifecta that’ll Reck Ya, but why aren’t we ALL in the top 50? One day hopefully soon I will be up there!
This is where I shall leave it! I will be posting about the Sky Sox game before the next Rockies game so keep an eye out for that!

See you at Coors against the Giants!
Bronx Bombers meet the Blake Street Bullies
5/7
This was the first time that I have ever seen the Yankees player which was exciting but as an autograph seeker you knew that the wall and BP was going to be HORRIBLE! Rox Addict, Rockpile Ranter and myself all chilled in the Rockpile line till gates opened at 4:30.
I got in and headed down to BP where Juan Nicasio threw me a ball. I had a play on three balls but they were all over my head. Rox Addict on the other hand had 2 nice snags, receiving his first BP homeruns of the year.
At 5 I decided to head over to the Yankees side to see who I could get. The wall was CRAZY packed and wish I would have stayed where I was at. I went over toward the dugout and third base to try to get Nelly’s attention and sure enough he saw my neon green sign and thought it was the coolest thing! The Broncos showed up and my goal was to get them on a baseball but no one signed.
After a call from EB I headed over to the Yankees wall because Mariano Rivera was signing. I didn’t get him which really upset me but knew that I had Saturday to get him. So after h went in I went over to my seats and sat and enjoyed the game. No graphs on the wall today.
On the mound for the Colorado Rockies was Jorge De La Rosa and on the mound for the New York Yankees was Hiroki Kuroda.
Yankees threatened in the first inning but Jorge got out of it with no runs scored. Rockies ended up going 1-2-3 in the first after Rutledge was picked off of 1st base. Yankees went 1-2-3 again in the 2nd but so did the Rockies. In the third the Yankees threaten again but Jorge was able to get out of it again leaving Ichiro stranded at third. In the bottom of the third the Rockies have 5 batters get to the plate but no one scored again. 0-0 headed to the fourth.

Both teams were silent in the fourth inning along with the fifth. In the top of the sixth the Yankees went 1-2-3 and in the bottom of the sixth the Rockies FINALLY got onto the board with a 2 out 2 run homerun by Carlos Gonzalez. Rutledge was on base so he scored too. 0-2 Rockies on top.

Scoring
Matt Belisle came in to replace De La Rosa in the 7th which he then pitched a 1-2-3 inning. Neither the Rockies nor the Yankees scored the rest of the game which was awesome. Rockies end up throwing a shutout against the Yankees 0-2.
After the game we thought we would try to get Joe Girardi along with Chris Nelson and any other Yankees that might walk out. There was no luck. We did get Nelly as he was walking out which was somewhat closure because when they left out of town then we were fighting then he got traded, so it was awesome to see him and say goodbye. Thanks Nelly for everything.
This was it for game one against the Yankees. Keep an eye out for game two.

Mile High Magic Early in the Season
The night started out like any other, show up early to hang with your friends, catch BP, and then head over to get graphs. The only thing that was different about this night was the weather. While waiting to go inside I met up with Gary X and saw Jersey Geoff. Geoff and I were wearing Pacheco’s jerseys, Geoff with number 58 (rookie number) and me with 22 (current number).
We all chatted but all recognized that the weather did not look good and just hoped that we could get enough decent weather to get some BP in.
As we walked in the crack of the bat and strikes of the lightning were simultaneous, the sky was dark and the lights were on, and the Rockies were taking batting practice. After Monday I would say that the Rockies needed all the help and practice possible. This really did remind me of the Natural and knew that this game was going to be special.
Thanks to Gary X I received my first batting practice ball of the season. Also during batting practice Jhoulys Chacin was nice enough to come over and sign two cards for me and some for Gary X. Juan Nicasio also came over and signed his Rookie card. Gary X is the man; he is able to speak certain things in Spanish so the players would respond to him which really helps us when getting graphs. I think I might take some Spanish lessons from him!
I also ran into my old friend from college David so what is up David thanks for saying Hey!
During the middle of batting practice it started to poor on us and they put the tarp on the field. I thought this is going to be a great game and might be delayed. I decided to head up to the concourse and head over to the dugout so when the rain stopped I could go down to get some graphs.
The Rockies started a new thing this season where you can go buy game worn/used memorabilia. On Monday (thanks to Jersey Geoff who bought Pacheco’s) I scored a Rex Brothers Opening Day locker tag. I picked that up but while I was waiting I ran into a guy who I had seen around at Fan Fest and around the stadium, his name Smitty! We started to talk and an introduction turned into a long conversation. Smitty and I decided to head down to the wall where Gary X had snagged a great spot.
As we stood there waiting for the players to come out they uncovered the field and started to prep it for first pitch. First player to come out was Todd. In all the years that I have tried to get autographs, this was the first time I ever saw Todd Helton come to the wall. I didn’t go to get his because everyone swarmed him! Smitty and I stayed put and when Cuddyer came out he noticed Smitty so came over and signed.
Smitty was working on Cuddyer’s internet connection earlier in the day and talked with him, so Smitty had the connection with Cuddy at the game! Thanks Smitty and thanks Cuddy for signing!
We also saw Marc Stout at the game first time i have seen him in a few weeks. Marc is my workout buddy so we have seen each alot since Janurary.
I also have to give a shout out to Bullpen Coach Jim Wright, you may be reading this but thank you for taking my card and checking this out!
Not a lot of other players signed but JP did get a chance to stop and take a picture with his number 1 fan! Thanks JP!
I had to go make my rounds and saw my friends from high school. Also saw Lincecum (Jenn) who I work with at the game, she is a Giants fan so I got her this Buster Posey jersey for her Birthday! As I was talking to Jenn it started to rain yet again, but cleared up really fast! The crowd went from mad to happy in a matter of minutes! It was awesome (wish I would have recorded it)!
I took a lot more pictures this game which is hard to get use to but its slowly coming about.
This game was an AMAZING GAME! This is how the team should be playing all the time! Guthrie pitched a beauty until he had a hiccup in the 4th inning and gave up a lot of runs, hey it happens right! Look at Verlander who pitched great and ended up losing the game in the 9th inning.
The good thing about the Rockies though is it they had run support last night!
We give up a few runs then we get them back in the next inning. It was so exciting to be there because when we scored seven runs in the fifth it was like we were unstoppable. The Giants bullpen seriously crumbled around the Rockies hitters, it was awesome and the Mile High Magic was back at Coors Field!
After the game we scurried down to the wall to get Rex Brothers Autograph on his name plate, he was more than willing to sign it for me! Thank you so much Rex!

Tooth Brush, Tooth Paste, and Tooth racing!
We just noticed this tonight, that Coors Field now have the racing Comfort Dental mascots.
That was the end of the night for me after a long day at work and school then experiencing the comeback, it truly was an amazing day and well worth the tiredness today! I think that is where I’m going to end it, it’s a wrap and that was the Take From 20th and Blake!
Just wanted to thank everyone who has taken the time to read this and who is spreading the word, slowly getting more readers everyday!
