Brooms are out, First Sunday Win!
4/7/2013
This turned out to be an early morning at the stadium. I was able to get there about 1030 and Julie was there holding our spot in line already! We were not sure what to expect with the Sunday games being moved back an hour to 2:10, so figured we would test it out and see what time we should be at the stadium.

Jared and I waiting at the gate to get in!
When gates opened they had autograph Sunday as normal but it was multiple stations with the 93’ team signing. I decided to just pick a line and hope for the best. I ended up being in Freddie Benavides and Gary Wayne. EB wanted a sweet spot ball with Benavides and Wayne didn’t sign on Saturday so luckily I scored with the right line!
After I got them two I decided to just stand further down on the wall towards the pitchers and see what I could get. I ended up getting Jorge De La Rosa and Rafael Betancourt which was awesome because they tend to be some of the hardest guys to get on the team. After chillin on the wall and getting JP to sign my shirt, it was time to PLAY BALL!
This was a great game! Dexter came up and was hit by a pitch (they said he wasn’t hit) and then hit a homerun on the next pitch! Baby Bull also hit a homerun this game making that 3 for him on the season! This team is killing it in homeruns and they have 13 on the season so far between 5 guys!
Here are a few more pictures from this game!

Not sure how many of you know this but Lachemann is awesome at giving a baseball away every inning with an awesome speech!
Also a huge shout out for JP for throwing our section a ball which the guy behind me (Charlie) got but I ended up trading him a signed Vinny Card for the game used ball. Well worth it for sure! So thank you Charlie!
After the game I, Rox Addict, his mom, Smitty and Kevin went to the new restaurant by Coors called the View House. Absolutely amazing place it had great views, great atmosphere and really good food and drinks. Definitely hit it up if you get the chance!

This was an amazing Opening weekend and even better that they ended up getting the Sweep!
Rox end up on top 9-1.

Day 2: 93’ Team
4/6/2013
Ahh Day 2 of Opening Weekend and just as busy as Day 1! I ended up going to the game with my friend Garrett and met up with Kevin, Smitty, Mike, Mariano, Gary and A, and EB! We hung out for a little to see who we could get which was absolutely no one but then decided to head inside! As we got inside we saw that they were having BP and decided to see what we could get. Wouldn’t you know it, I ended up getting a tossup from Luke Gregerson of the Padres and that was it!
Since this weekend was the 20th Anniversary and since the Rockies were honoring the 1993 team they ended up having them sign today. So right as BP was done Mike, Garrett and I went up to one of the three tents to wait in line to get some of the guys! Luckily we got in a good line who had Ashby, Matthews, Neid and Young. Second tent had Clark, Knudson, Reynoso, and Benavides. The last tent had Reed, Royster, Owens, Ruffin, and Smith. I was able to get everyone on a 20th anniversary ball which was awesome except I still need a lot of players.

This took 3 innings and so I missed 3 innings of play but that is totally OK. When I finally sat down it was a relief to be able to sit because I had been running all day trying to get everyone.
The Rockies played very well again especially with the Jon Garland and his Colorado Rockies debut! Cuddy came through and they looked like they should!
Best thing about tonight is the fact that they had a fan run onto the field FULL SPRINT and the smallest security guy tackled him! AWESOMENESS! This seriously got the crowd going at Coors! If you want to see shots please look at Rox Addicts blog (he had some good shots!)
After the game we stood outside and actually got some good graphs! We got some Padres, some Rockies such as Juan Nicasio, Wilton Lopez, Chris Nelson, and Jon Garland, but coolest auto was getting Goose Gossage! I had got him the previous day so I shook his hand and told him thanks!! After waiting around till 11, we decided everyone was gone and we left!
If this team keeps kickin’ butt like they are now then they will be in great position later in the season!
This one is short and sweet and to the point, but has lots of photos!

Opening Day: Welcome Back
4/5/13
I have found that this day is one of my favorite days of the year! For SERIOUS baseball fans this is a holiday one that we all don’t miss and spend a decent amount of money just to be in that stadium.
It was an early morning and long day but all worth it. We started out by meeting early for breakfast at The Delectable Egg. It was Me, Kevin, Tonja, Mariano, Tanya, Rachel, Michelle, Cass, and Smitty! After breakfast we headed down to Coors to see what all was going on. In the process we stopped and took some photos on the way up to the festivities.
As we walked up we went in to this area across from Coors where they had a photo booth! This was probably one of the best things that could have been in this area! Here are a few photos!
After we ended up being asked by many news stations to be on TV because we looked like a “FUN” group! It was fun being loud and crazy and just have a good time with some friends!
Finally we decided maybe we should go inside but as we walked over by home plate, but Mariano pointed out that David Neid and Goose Goosage were signing and boom I was over and had two baseballs signed in no time.
After that we headed inside! THE GATES WERE FINALLY OPEN AND BASEBALL WAS OFFICIALLY BACK IN DENVER!
Getting in the gate is always a good feeling but seeing the new lineup cards sure is great!
I decided to go onto the wall with Rachel, Michelle, Tanya, and later joined by Mariano to get autographs. I do not usually do graphs on opening day for the fact that there are a TON of people there and to me it doesn’t seem worth it. Well wouldn’t you know it Cargo walks right over to us and signs and I had NOTHING for him, it was disappointing but just hope I get him the rest of the season!
Before first pitch they had a ceremony to honor a few guys from the 1993 team which was awesome! I don’t remember these guys because when they started I was only 2 years old! The history behind these guys though is very inspiring and I love it for the fact that I seem to learn more and more about them every day!
Then it was time for the Opening Day lineups!
This always seems to be a cool shot I just haven’t found the right level or angle to be at yet!
Then it was time to PLAYBALL! So me, the girls, and Mariano all headed to the bullpen to watch the game with my dad. We ended up standing the whole game but it was nice because it was in the shade and we had a good view of the bullpen!
Here are a few photos from the game, not many good ones but as you know the Rockies ended up winning 5-2!
I’m trying to keep this one somewhat short for the fact that I didn’t really have a lot of game material but a lot of pictures of friends and the bullpen! I promise tomorrows is going to be much better!
This is where I’m leaving it for now! Till the next one, I’m Blake St Babe and this is The Take: From 20th and Blake!

Charity Workout… but Not Many Graphs
4/4/2013
A few years ago they did a Charity Workout at Coors which was very open and very accessible. This year that was not the case. This year you got in and then had to wait for them to come out which was cool because there were a few of us Rox Hardcores were there, so we hung out and essentially stood around and got sunburn.
Anyway the whole team ended up coming out and stretching together and started to warm up, pitchers ended up pitching and running while most of the other guys threw and had a live batting practice.
It was cool to watch some of the guys pitch and just hang out and be themselves. They unfortunately did not let anyone into the second deck of the Right Field Mezzanine or Left field bleachers which sucked because we could have got so many baseballs with such a small amount of people there.
During the practice EB and I were interviewed by Kami of Fox 31 news (not sure if anything ever aired) but while I was getting interviewed there was a little scuffle on the field between Juan Nicasio and Edgmer Escolona. Later we found out that Nicasio had snapped Edgmer with an exercise band and Escalona flipped out and threw the first punch. They then were separated but we still were not sure what happened.
When they decided they were done with practice they had to go in for a meeting and we were not sure if they were going to come back out to sign for all of us. Well they never came back out and they never told us to leave so we ended up getting fried waiting for nothing.
A few players (Rosario, Dexter, Belisle, Lopez, Ottavino, and Volstad all ended up signing for a few select fans along with Tulowitzki’s sole 5 autographs!) Kind of of disappointing that more guys did not sign but on the other hand I’m ok with it because they helped me make decisions on what we were going to do with the rest of the afternoon.
Autographs today:
Dexter Fowler- Helmet
Chris Volstad-Helmet
Edgmer Escalona- Helmet
Wilton Lopez- Helmet
Wilin Rosario- 2 cards
After practice was over we headed to a Denver Post Q&A which was nice because wouldn’t you believe it, Adam Ottavino showed up to be the special guest. I asked if he wanted to sit with me Jamie and Rachael and he said yes which was awesome because after he was done speaking I was able to ask a few questions and knew I was getting honest answers from him.
The Q&A was very good and very informative so thank you to Troy and Patrick for coming out and having that event. Also another thanks to Brooklyn for being AWESOME!
This is where I’m going to leave it, I know that I’m a day behind but slowly getting in the mode and squeezing a lot of blogs in during this home stand.

Thanks for a Horrifically Great Season

This is the last official blog this season! Yes it is late but playoffs are happening and I have been busy!
Going into the season I thought with the team that we had on paper we were going to go to the World Series, that was not the case. We went through a bunch of players but we finished the season on a winning note at home and hopefully everyone has a great off-season and we come back stronger next year. This blog though is dedicated to everyone this season who made it a great season. This goes for everyone who has read the blog, friends I have made at Coors Field, the players, and most of my job!
My final count 44 home games, 2 Rockie Road games, 3 Colorado Spring games, a Tulsa Drillers game, New Orleans zephyrs game, and 2 Atlanta Braves games. That Brings my grand total to 53 games this season! I’m pretty sure that is more than double what I went to last season!! That is a great accomplishment.
First people I want to give a shout out to is all the people I work with. If it wasnt for them and letting my schedule be so relaxed I wouldn’t have been able to go on my week-long trip and attend as many games and or batting practices!
Next people are all the friends that I met at Coors Field this season. Thanks to Rox Addict, EB, Rachel, Jared, Jersey Geoff, Tayna, Rockpile Ranter, Kevin and his wife, Smitty and Cass, Jon, Mariano, Gary X and A, and everyone else who made this season unbelievably awesome! With out you guys my blog wouldn’t have got to where it is today, games wouldn’t have been as fun, and we all hooked each other up with graphs and everything so it was nice to have people looking out for you! Also want to give a shout out to the Ushers that made this season awesome! I don’t think I need to name you because you know who you are!

The last people I want to thank are some of the players! This year was hands down the best interaction that some of us fans have had. Huge thanks to Jordan Pacheco, Josh Roenicke, Jeremy Guthrie, Josh Rutledge, Dexter Fowler, Charlie Blackmon, and Michael Cuddyer for taking a few minutes to do Random Rock Talk! You can find those by searching Youtube for Players name and Random Rox Talk. Also a huge thanks to Adam Ottavino, Chris Nelson, Carlos Torres, Jhoulys Chacin, Jorge De La Rosa, and Juan Nicasio for hanging out with us cool kids by the trash can! Thanks to the rest of the guys that also did Fowler and Friends like Eric Young Jr, Tyler Colvin, and Christian Friedrich! Alot of player interactions which def made this season better so thanks to every player that made that special connection! Wilin Rosario is the last because even if he doesn’t get voted Rookie of the Year he is th Baby Bull and I have his hat!

I think this is where I’m going to end it but looking at maybe going down to AZ for a weekend of Fall Ball and then making plans already for Spring Training. I have some big things coming up and hope that I can connect with some of the players to keep the blog moving.
Can’t forget my parents who supported me and let me do my own thing!!

Sweeping the Cubs for the Last Homestand of 2012

Last BP of the season
This was the last home series for the Rockies in the rough 2012 season. I actually found time to go to all the games so I was at Coors a lot this week. This was weird because it had been pretty empty for the past games but because it was the Cubs it was more full than normal.
The first game was pretty cloudy but I hung out with Rachel, EB, Rox Addict, Jared, and Jersey Geoff. This was another busy game where I did not get many photos because 1. it was cold and 2. it started to rain.
It was a rain out game but they got in 6 ½ innings and so the Rockies walked way this one wet but with a score of 10-5.

The second game was the same way cold and wet but they ended up playing the rest of the game and Jared and I were able to sit second row above the dugout which were sweet seats! The Rockies Walked away with this one dryer than the night before with a shutout win of 6-0.
The last game of the season was a day game and it as packed downtown! I ended up going down very early to hang with friends and to see if anyone would stop! Some of the guys did stop which was awesome! Coach Dauer, Andrew Brown, Eric Young Jr., and Josh Outman. The two guys of the morning though were Matt Belisle and Dexter Fowler. They both pulled up and got out of their cars and walked over to all of us and told us thank you for all the support this season along with signing some autographs and just being class acts. This meant more to me than anything this season, for two guys to get out of their cars and just say thanks was more than any of us could have asked for!
The game was a good game and I ended up sitting with Jersey Geoff. It was pretty packed and so finding a seat was kind of complicated but I ended up in the 4th row which I couldn’t complain.
The Rockies ended up sweeping the Cubs with 7-5 win. Great way to end the last home series that is for sure!
O ya JP Hit a homerun to put the Rockies up and he was the player of the game!
After the game all the guys walk around and throw out Promotional items from the season and I actually ended up with Baby Bulls hat! Awesome to make connections with a player and to have him throw me his hat was amazing!
After we stood out back to watch the guys drive out and then went to Fodo’s and the Chop House for dinner!
It was a bad season but great season for interactions! I still at least one more post for this season but look for posts in the off-season! I’ looking to interact with some of the players and see what they are up to in the off-season!
I’m Blake St Babe reporting on the last home series of the season. This was The Take: From 20th and Blake!
9/11 Fowler and Friends Along with Two Quick Games!
This is going to probably be a quick post but to start off with 9/11 is a day to remember and I feel that it is a day that the country does come together no matter what is happening in the world. We will always remember 9/11/01.
This was also the last Fowler and Friends which was awesome because 1. it was at noon 2. the special guest was Carlos Gonzalez! I showed up early just to hang but it was cool to watch the people start to show up and get crazy for Cargo! We ended up only getting one thing signed but I had someone help me get a second item signed. So huge thanks to them!
After Fowler and Friends I headed back to work and then went to the game that night. I showed up for some of batting practice and scored 2 baseballs which were toss ups from the Giants. I ended up giving them away to little kids who thought it was the coolest thing in the world. Even though I really made their day, they made mine!
After we headed over to get graphs. We unfortunately didn’t get anything but that was ok! I did get a toss-up from the usher for the first warm up in the 1st inning. I ended up giving that to a friend Tifany who I work with that was at the game.
It was a very good game but we lost this one.
Catch with Luke, Makes for a Fun Game!
8/31/2012
Padres @ Rockies
This was a very good game! It started off early by meeting Rox Addict at Jackson’s for a few drinks. When realizing it was ten minutes till the gates open we decided to head out and head across the street to Coors Field. Once we got inside we watched the Rockies finish BP and then proceeded to watch the Padres.
Griffin Benedict of the Padres threw me a ball which was awesome but I yelled at Luke Gregerson and asked for a ball but he was like you throw me a ball so I pulled one out and then we played catch for a couple of minutes! After he did end up throwing me a ball which was very nice of him, so a HUGE thanks to Luke!
After I got my second ball I ended up going over to meet EB on the Padres wall to see if I could get Luke to sign a ball for me and to see who else I could get.
After getting Luke’s autograph we headed to see if we could get EB Bud Black’s autograph which we did, so we headed to the Rockies wall to wait for them to come out. Signers today were Josh Rutledge, Jordan Pacheco, Andrew Brown, and Chris Nelson. I ended up getting Nelson on a sweet spot ball with a really nice autograph!
In the second inning things were shaky for the Rockies and the Padres ended up getting 2 runs and another in the 3rd to make it 3-0 going into the bottom of the 3rd.
The Rockies did get 1 run in the 3 to make it 3-1 Padres. The 4th inning was pretty silent but the Padres scored in the 5th with the Rockies countering in the 6th with a solo homerun by Jordan Pacheco and Wilin Rosario!
The Padres got their last run in the 8th making it 5-3 Padres.

In the bottom of the 9th the Rockies made a run at it by scoring one more run but it was not enough. Rockies fell to the Friars 5-3.
It was a wonderful night at the ballpark and very pleasant to hang out with good friends at my favorite place on this earth.
I also wanted to give a huge Shout out to Michael Cuddyer for doing Random Rox Talk on Thursday!!!!!
I’m out like a girl scout! I’m Blake St Babe and this is The Take: From 20th and Blake
Sorry it took so long for me to post this I thought I did last week!
Battle of Salaries and the Underdog Wins… AGAIN!
Dodgers @ Rockies

8/28/2012
What a game. It was a nice cloudy afternoon but I didn’t have time to make it for BP so when I walked in a entered through the Home plate gate and headed down to the Dodger’s dugout with the hope of snagging Adrian Gonzalez, Matt Kemp, Andre Either, or Don Mattingly on a ball. Well no cigar! They did sign for a few kids but not for a girl in a Rockies shirt… does that surprise me… NO!
Well I did see that Clayton Kershaw was signing on the other side of the dugout and so I ran over and stood there and scored him on a ball. He doesn’t sign sweet spot and he doesn’t sign in a spot that the ball would be of good value, which is understandable but also annoying.
After getting Kershaw, Rox Addict, EB and I headed over to the wall to hang until the player came out. At first I realized that I really didn’t have anything for anyone. So I helped some friend out. Over on the wall we ran into Jersey Geoff and Rockpile Ranter who were trying to get some stuff signed as well. Players who signed were Andrew Brown, Josh Rutledge, Jordan Pacheco, Tyler Colvin, and Charlie Blackmon.
Ranter had a spring training hat of Charlie Blackmon’s and so I told him that I would be able to get it done. So once he was warming up I yelled “Chuck Nazty… (He turned around) this is your Spring Training hat, can you sign it… (got a nod)! Once he was done warming up he was more than willing to sign for us!
Once he signed it was time to head to the seats and let the game begin! Tyler Chatwood was pitching for the Rockies and he pitched VERY well! First inning was a quick one which was nice because in the bottom of the first the Rockies got straight to work and scored 4. During the Rockies at bat Matt Kemp was going for a ball and slammed so hard into the wall it was amazing that it was that loud from where we were. He missed the ball and Rutledge ended up getting a triple, but Kemp was out and down for the count. I didn’t get good pictures but PLEASE take a minute to look at Rox Addicts Blog because he has a great sequence of photos from before, during, and after impact! Http://roxaddit.mlblogs.com

Once he got up we resumed play with one out and Rutledge on third JP came up and hit a blop single to center field that Kemp dove for but missed and the Rockies were on the board. Rosario hit an RBI single, along with a RBI single by Brown, and a RBI single by LaMahieu.
In the second A.J. Ellis did hit a Sac fly to score the dodgers first run. Bottom of 2 was 1-2-3 for the Rockies along with a 1-2-3 inning for Chatwood in the 3rd.

At the top of the third JP was robbed of a homerun buy Juan Rivera but Da Baby Bull on the next pitch hit it out and once that thing left the bat you knew it was GONE! This was Rosario’s 22nd homerun of the season which now leads the team!
The Dodgers scored 1 in the 4th but the Rockies countered in the bottom of the 4th with a single by Tyler Colvin. 5th and 6th innings were silent on both sides with no runs being scored until the bottom of the 7th when Rosario had another RBI single. Chris Nelson also got an RBI single in that inning! Rockies 8-2!
In the 8th and 9th the Dodgers scored 1 off of our Bullpen but Betancourt finally closed the game and the Rockies won!
This was a very well played game and everyone keeps asking what happened to this team and I say that they have heart and that our future team looks very bright!!!
On the way in from the Bullpen we did get Adam Ottavino on two cards and Rox addict got him to sign a picture!
We were tipped off that the players were coming out of the home plate gate and so we headed out and waited to see who made an appearance. We ended up snagging Clayton Kershaw AGAIN this time on an All-star ball with my name inscribed on it, but the coolest autograph was from Matt Treanor and his wife a three time Olympic gold medalists Misty May Treanor and the best part was that they were on the same ball! IT WAS AWESOME!
We saw some other players and I chatted with Nelly about his Fan Cave experience which was very cool, when we didn’t run and talked to me about it I decided that Chris is a nice guy and that I have a new found respect for him!
Today’s Treasures:
Andrew Brown signed ball
Clayton Kershaw
Clayton Kershaw All-Star ball To Amy
Matt and Misty May Treanor
2 Adam Ottavino
1 Baseball from Jordan Pacheco
If you ask me that is a pretty Sweet day!!
This is where I’m leaving it but I recommend you taking a look at
Rockpile Ranter’s blog: http://baseballsnatcher.mlblogs.com

This is where I’m leaving it! Happy I got this one done early!
