Night at the Sox, first ever Random Rox Talk

I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make it down to the game or not but knew if I didn’t go I wasn’t sure when I was going to make it down to watch the boys play. I also needed to see JP to do my first ever Random Rox Talk.

 My best friend Kourtney went to the game with me. As we headed out of Denver we hit traffic four or five different times. It finally opened up and we were making good time, until we were just outside of Colorado Springs. Outside of Colorado Springs, we hit an accident and traffic was backed up. That was not fun at all.

After we hit the accident we were in the clear and made it to Security Service Field. We arrived at 4:50 which was good because gates opened at 5:00. We packed up and headed to the line, but wouldn’t you know it there was NO LINE! Kourt and I were first in the stadium at 5 pm when the gates ended up opening. I was very upset with the guy at the table because he took my seeds and said I couldn’t take them into the game but later during the game we saw people with their own seeds. Hmm o well.

We made it to our seats which were in Row F seats 7-8 on the aisle. Players started coming out so we got up and waited on the wall for them to come out. First one to come out was Alex White. He was pitching so he came out signed a few graphs for us and other fans and headed down the first baseline to start warming up. Kourt thought White was very good-looking and I think that is her new favorite player, she even asked me where she could get a Sky Sox jersey.

 The next player who came out was JP, I immediately caught his attention but knew he probably had to go catch White. I did ask if he would come back and do my Random Rox Talk and he responded with of course. He did sign a few but I did not want to take up his time.

Other players such as Charlie Blackmon (Chuck Nazty) and Jim Cesario signed graphs for fans. Charlie said that he would do my next Random Rox Talk when I came down to the springs so I slipped him a card. Jim Cesario also was signing and I asked if he would take a picture with me for my blog. He took a picture and I gave him a card also.

We stood there and watched White throw to Pacheco and waited for the game to start.

They presentation of the colors was a very good ceremony and a great way to start off the night. Each game they have kids who go out and meet a player ad get their ball signed by that player at that position.

White pitched a very good game while the team offensively produced and had amazing defense.

This was Kourtney’s first game of the season and her first baseball game legally able to drink! She celebrated by buying a beer!

Will Nieves kept looking up at us all game, not sure why but knew I had to put this in here!

 

 Very good game against the Tucson Padres. Every Friday night at Security Service Field they have fireworks win or lose thankfully they won tonight.

Now onto my Random Rox Talk. I decided to do this because Rockpile Ranter and Rox Addict both said that I have very good interactions with players. So the point of this is just to give my readers a little something and to learn a little about the players with 5 Random questions.

I had asked Jordan Pacheco if he would be my first Random Rox Talk and he said yes that he would. So that is another reason I knew I had to make it down to the Springs before they head off on a long road trip.  Jordan was busy during the game and I did not get him so after the game I went out back to see if I could get him.

As we were waiting there were three high school kids standing out there. Conrad, Jack, and Mitch, they were trying to snag player autographs which I think they ended up doing really well. I think all but two players signed for them before they had to leave. Nice meeting you guys hopefully I run into you somewhere down the road at another game!

We also snagged pictures with Alex White!

 Kourt and I ended being the only ones waiting when JP finally came out. I told myself that I was going to ask if he had time and if he didn’t then I wasn’t going to worry about it. He saw me and came up to where we were. He gave me a hug and then met Kourt and I explained the process of the Random Rox Talk to him.

He then picked five numbers: 4,8,22,58,60. Those were the questions that I asked him.

Question 4: Team you hate playing most up in the majors?

JP: Arizona Diamondbacks

Question 8: Favorite Actor?

JP: Leonardo DiCaprio, every movie he plays in is good!

Question22: Last Movie you saw in theaters?

JP: Raid Redemption

Question 58: Favorite song to listen to before game?

JP: As of right now it has to be Kid Cudi “Up Up and Away”

Question 60: If you could hire any actor to play you in a movie who would it be?

JP: Defiantly Leonardo DiCaprio

He then went on to sign my Take From Blake sign, take a picture, and sign some cards for the Rantics. I felt bad taking up his time but he was so nice about it and anything I needed he was willing to do!

Thank you so much JP for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this and interact with me. This is why this guy is my favorite player hands down!

After everything was said and done, Kourtney and I packed up and headed on our long drive home.

We had a blast down in the springs and can not wait to go back.

Not sure when the next game is going to be but thinking my birthday 5/2 against the Dodgers.
