I wanted to wait to express my feelings freely on the Tulo trade to the Blue Jays until after I saw what Jeff Bridich and the Rockies were going to do come trade deadline… well now that it has come and gone it is time to get it all out.
If you have followed my blog then you realize that I am NOT AT ALL a fan of Mr Tulowitzki as a person but as a player I don’t think anyone could play short as well as he can… that is as long as he is healthy. That was the problem though, The Rockies were paying this guy $120 Million to play and he BARELY played. Am I happy he is gone, yes! It was hard I will admit I had to cry about it and shed a tear or two just so I could get it out of my system.
As for the rest of the Deadline I was pretty upset that the Rockies did not make any other moves. Unfortunately The Rockies don’t have the farm system to develop pitchers and so why not develop hitters and then trade them for a starting pitcher that season? My final thought was if you thought getting 3 prospects who might help us in the future become a winning team… then do it. Tulo was the last of the 2007 WS team and maybe it really is time to rebuild, but build from the bottom.
Where does a team go from here you ask….hopefully up in the standings.

Hello all. As I sit here I finally find time to write and update everyone about my journey the last year. As I started my new job with Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association I have found my balance with being me and autographing. Spring Training was rough in the aspect of finding time to be me and going to get autographs at the Rockies. Since I do autographing through work it was hard to pick the teams I went and got for work and the teams I went and got for my personal collection.
Thankfully the only team I completely collect is the Rockies and I still am able to graph.
I ended up getting to graph a few days during Spring Training which was wonderful being around friends that have traveled in from Colorado and hanging with some of my favorite guys!
I did however had to miss Opening Day here in Colorado but finally hit my first Rockies game against the White Sox.
Graphs were decent especially with Paul Konerko. I wish him all the best in his journeys after baseball.
Next game was this weekend against the Phillies. I spent the whole weekend autographing with friends and getting back into the grove. This weekends count was:
7 Batting Practice baseballs
9 autographed baseballs (Papelbon, 2 Sandberg, Howard, Manship, Utley, Stubbs, Brown, Belisle)
1 Autographed Game Worn Wil Nieves Jersey
1 Opening Day Tyler Chatwood Name Plate
1 Game Used Broken Bat Justin Morneau
Carlos Ruiz baseball card
I would say that it was a pretty solid weekend!
I’m deciding how I want my blog to flow this year so please bear with me but keep your eyes peeled! I have some sweet give aways his year and should have some cool small blogs on some of the players!

I just wanted to give a shout out to everyone who has read my blog this last month and for through out the whole season. I know after the 4th of July life got extremely busy with a new job and baseball and living in the Springs but I’m hoping to get more involved next season. I will be having at least 1 more contest on here before the end of the season BUT after traveling to Los Angeles for the last game of the season I plan to do a HUGE post on Todd. I have photos from his 2500 hit, his last game at Coors, AND his last game in LA. That should be up in a few days but I want to make sure I take my time and get everything in. Man what a season! Keep watching for some cool stuff!

Wow what a day, rough loss for the Rockies and Todd Helton announces that he will be retiring after the 2013 season. To put things into perspective that means that Todd will be done with his professional year in a few weeks. Sad to see him go but he knows its time. I will get more into this but for now thanks!
So this whole thing with Betancourt really stresses me out but then again its typical and it shouldn’t bother me at all.
I had high hopes for this team and they provided us with moments of hope but then took it away in a matter of games. Is this what it is going to be like for FOREVER? With about 6 weeks left in the season i feel that we and the players know that the playoff chase is over, i think they know that we had a chance to be THAT team but now its to late… Or is it?!? Time will only tell.
Lets see what these next few weeks hold, it could also be Todd’s last or will he be back for his 17th season?!? We shall see, stay tuned!

Hey guys sorry for not posting in a while I have been super busy with work with just being hired on full time! I also have been traveling with my other job but I finally will start writing again, actually starting tomorrow with a sky sox game! Then all weekend at the Rockies! Get ready here we go! Talk to you all tomorrow!
LAD @ COL
This was a very long day! I headed to Coors around 1040 and showed up and was parked by 11:10. By the time I walked out back Mark McGwire was pulling up in a cab and signed for all of us out there! I was able to get him sweet spot on a ball. After getting him I headed up front to hang out and wait for Mattingly. While waiting out front Brooklyn walked in (he looked really good, light blue is definitely his color), also walking in was Honeycutt and finally Don Mattingly. Such a nice guy. We had a good short conversation about Puig and how I should have picked him up in fantasy but instead picked up Wil Meyers. Great guy, thanks for taking the time to sign.
After getting Mattingly I headed outback to see who I could get and ended up getting Greinke on a ball which was good. Kemp walked in but for the second day he refused to sign.
After a while I decided to call it quits and put my stuff in the car and went to meet up with Jersey Geoff, Kevin and Tonja for lunch at Falling Rock. After hanging out for a few hours I headed to the backside of Coors Field to get ready to do the flag. Thanks again to EB for inviting me to do the flag.
Once the flag was over we casually strolled around to the first base side and sat and watched the game. I hung out with Tonja, Kevin and Kristin which was nice because it was fun to chit-chat and just watch baseball.
Pitching for the Rockies was Chacin and on the mound for the Dodgers was Capuano.
The Rockies decided to get on the board very early in the bottom of the first by a double from Carlos Gonzalez, which scored DJ LeMahieu. Dodgers countered in the top of the 2nd with a Matt Kemp 2 run-homerun, making it 2-1 Dodgers.
In the bottom of the 3rd Rutledge singled which scored Chacin! A few batters later Cuddyer doubled in center which scored Rutledge. The next batter Rosario was able to hit a sac fly and scored Cuddy. At the end of the inning the Rockies were back on top 4-2.
No one scored until the 5th when Rosario batted in Rutledge on a single to center and then top singles to right which scored Cuddy! 2 batter later Colvin had a ground ball to center which scored Rosario, score headed into the 6th was 7-2, Rockies.
In the top of the 6th inning the Dodgers decided to get some runs on the board one by a single by Puig, which scored Punto and then Gonzalez doubled which scored Puig. 8-4 Rockies still on top.
The Rockies ended up getting one of those runs back in the bottom of the 7th by a solo shot from Cuddy to right field making it 9-4 Rockies.
The last run that scored was by the Diamondbacks in the top of the 9th with a solo shot by Adrian Gonzalez.
Final score of this one is 9-5, Rockies avoid the sweep!
No 4th of July is complete without fireworks so here are some photos!

I wont have much new stuff up for Rockies but will have Sky Sox up and ready to go throughout this whole week!
Dodgers @ Rockies
Forth of July so you know what that means… a TON of people.
My day started off at the ball park around 4:15 as I made it inside for Batting Practice! Yes I made it to Batting Practice, no I didn’t catch any baseballs but it was fun to just hang out with dad and watch people try to catch baseballs. After my dad and I missed one we called it quits and headed around to meet EB on the Dodgers side above the dugout.
When we got there the Dodgers were about to head off the field after batting practice. On the way off I yelled at Mattingly and Mark McGwire and Mark threw me a ball. The awesome thing was that he had signed the ball!! Yes he threw me a rubbed down ball and it was signed! AWESOME! After getting that I headed to the Rockies wall. I worked the wall from a few rows up because it seems to be easier to walk and to get to more places. Signing on the Rockies wall today was Todd Helton (I got a card) and that is all that I saw. I was shocked that Cuddyer didn’t sign but hey I haven’t seen him sign but 3x maybe this season on the wall.
After getting Todd I packed my stuff up and literally ran over to the bullpen to get Rex Brothers on his camo game worn hat.
Once I got over there he signed it with gamer ’13. I then hollered at Brooklyn and Lopez and got a toss-up from Lopez!
I decided to watch the top half of the 1st inning from the bullpen then watch the rest of the game from the top of 119! On the mound for the Rockies was Chatwood and for the Dodgers was Greinke. Both pitchers seemed to have hiccup innings and you can see that by looking at the box score.
The Dodger’s were the first to score in the top of the first but the Rockies were also able to get one on the board in the first.
The Rockies then decided to go ahead and score 3 more in the 2nd to put them ahead 4-1. In the 4th however the Dodgers came alive and scored 4 more runs which put them ahead 5-4.
Dodgers scored yet again in the 5th inning and Rockies seemed to battle back and got one in the bottom of the 5th. In the 6th inning the Dodgers got yet another run making the score 7-5.
AGAIN the Dodgers scored again in the top of the 7th and the Rockies countered in the bottom of the 7th scoring 2, making the score headed into the 8th inning 8-7.
The 8th was quick but the 9th Rex gave up back to back solo home runs making it 10-7. The Rockies did come back and score 1 in the bottom half of the 9th but they couldn’t overcome the overpowering Dodgers.
Dodger’s take this one with a final score of 10-8. This was a tough lost because we battled but the DOdgers are on fire and can’t be stopped. They also have an outstanding Rookie RF that has been dominating and actually was voted player of the Month. He is the first player since 1958 (when the honor started) to be named player of the month in the same month that they debuted. Crazy but this guy is for real!
After the game I decided not to do autographs and decided to stand outside to get graphs. I ended up getting Stu Cole on the Helmet, a fist bump from Rutledge, Chacin, and cool handshake from Lopez. Also got to have a nice chat with Givette and Ottavino and that was about it. Kemp walked out but looked like he was having a terrible night and didn’t stop because he is the only one that I really wanted. O well I guess that’s what happens. It’s not that big of a deal but irritating for sure. I will have to keep trying and keep pushing through.
I think this is a good place to stop this one. I will be going to the game tomorrow and will have my post up tomorrow night.
But for now I’m Blake St Babe and this is The Take: From 20th and Blake.

Giants @ Rockies
What a way to end the month than with a Rockies game! I headed to the game early with my dad and we were in line by 1015ish! While waiting in line we saw Adam Ottavino, Wilton Lopez, Jorge De La Rosa, and Yorvit Torrealba. I was able to get a card signed by Wilton and Jorge which was awesome.
While standing in line we found out that the signers were going to be Tyler Chatwood, Corey Dickerson, Matt Belisle, and none other than Troy Tulowitzki. The day had went from good to GREAT! I have been trying to get Tulo on my team helmet since Spring Training but to be able to think about having my helmet complete was amazing! Plus my dad was there and so he got him on a sweet spot ball for me!
Once we got in we got our Larry Walker Bobbleheads and headed to the wall to Tulo’s line. Once we got in line we realized it was family day. Family day is a day that the players are able to have their family there before the game to just hang out.
Once 1240 hit the four players sat down and it was time to sign! I got through Tulo’s line and headed over to Dickerson’s line since I needed him on the helmet as well. I guess I wasn’t lucky enough because I was the next person in line and they cut the line off. It sucked but hey it happens. So then I went and got a place on the wall and got Edwar Cabrerra on the helmet and that was all that signed.
Pitching for the Rockies was Drew Pomeranz (His first start of the year in the majors) and Madison Bumgarner for the Giants.
It was a strong start for both starters until the Giants got on the board in the 3rd inning by a solo homerun from Buster Posey.
The Giants were the next to score again in the 5th by scoring 3. Going into the 6th inning it was 4-0, Giants.
The Rockies did strike in the 6th with a run but then the Giants scored in the 7th and the Rockies once more in the 8th. In the 8th Cuddy extended his hitting streak to 27 games.
All in all the Game was not as good as it was on Friday night, but it is baseball.
After the game we headed outback and out back I got Corpas and Dickerson on the helmet which is great! That makes 4 today on the helmet and 3 to go!
This is it for Sunday Funday! I’m Blake St Babe and this is The Take: From 20th and Blake!
